Details:

Checking some of my other Buick parts books, they show it retrofitted back to the 1950, 1951 and 1952 model's, as well fitting just there are two sets of instruction sheets included, one for 1953 and one for brand new, still in original factory accessory box. The 1953 instructions show it going through the door, and the 1954 instructions show it going through the dash, below the windshield which would come out the fender. Obviously, since the bodies were identical, it will fit the model's, too.

Also, looking in the parts books, they show the outside bracket as being the exact same one as used for the guide spotlight. But, I suppose it could be installed on any of them, if you really wanted. Check the logo in the one picture.
